'BEFORE BABY' MOMS CLUB DEMONSTRATION COMMUNITY GARDEN
One of our primary program initiatives is to play a role in improving nutritional education for pregnant women from the ground up. This project was started as a way to help meet that goal. Moms Clubs of Bristol, Washington County and Johnston Memorial Hospital put on their garden gloves, loaded up their wheelbarrows, and headed to the garden to help our moms-to-be learn more about growing their own food and shopping fresh. It’s about the whole process from planting a garden, cultivating, harvesting and cooking it up for the family. This garden lets our moms be part of the journey from seed to dinner plate. Thanks to INTotal Health and Virginia Premier Health Plan for their support and participation, and Frye-Shaffer Insurance for providing this great garden space.
